I have served on the Board for 4 years, 2 as President. I have a Master’s Degree in Education and taught school for 15 years. I have a Law Degree and practiced Family Law for 20 years.PRIORITY:
We need funding commensurate with the needs of our diverse student population; funding to recruit and retain highly qualified teachers and support staff; funding to update technology in the elementary and middle schools and funding to continue to provide 21st century education our students.
BUDGET:
My vision for increasing the County’s education revenue is to strengthen the collaboration between the Board, the Superintendent and the County Council. My goal is to partner with the Talbot County Education Association and advocate for essential budgetary increases in order to maintain high standards of education in the County.
ROLE:
I would promote a yearly increase in salaries, health insurance. I would promote the timely maintenance of the facilities and equipment; the funding to continue the 1-1 Laptop program and to have all our teachers rank in the top quartile within the state.
