Adult Literacy

Financing Education

  • Financing Education- LWVMD Takes Action to support measures which recognize the primary responsibility for funding public elementary and secondary education lies with the state. (1972, 1975) Support for:
  • K-12 EDUCATION- Several provisions in HB 1 – Budget Reconciliation Act (Speaker by Request of the Administration) impact K-12 public education in Maryland.
  • LWVMD Testimony on Maryland Education And Trust Fund – Video Lottery Terminals- The League of Women Voters of Maryland is very strongly opposed to adopting slots and slots casinos anywhere in Maryland.
