Joining Maryland Commission for Women

ARE YOU READY TO TAKE THE NEXT STEP? If you are ready to help improve the quality of life for Maryland women, then consider taking the next step and becoming a member the Maryland Commission for Women. The Maryland Commission for Women is seeking a diverse pool of candidates to serve on this state government commission, established by the legislature in 1971. The Commission is a 24-member citizen’s group appointed by the Governor from among persons interested in improving the status of women. Commissioners, who are appointed for four years, represent the various geographical regions and diversity of the state. The purpose of the Commission is to advise government, advance solutions and serve as a state-wide resource to promote social, political and economic equality for women.
